We’ve had a fairly busy weekend visiting friends and family but I (and Mr B in some cases) have found the time to appreciate all of the following this weekend:
1. While Mr B has had to go off to church to be at the first service earlier this morning, I’ve had the opportunity to watch Kirstie’s Homemade Britain (we have a box that can tape any programme and it’s revolutionalised our TV viewing!). The first episode featured Kirstie’s attempt to make scones at a county show competition. one tip I picked up is that buttermilk makes the dough lighter and less crumbly. If you’re into baking and crafts I’d recommend catching some episodes on 4od! (Although the awful use of ‘Fix You’ by Coldplay when Kirstie’s first attempt at eclairs go badly was ever so slightly melodramatic!)
2. Pinterest is something I’m really excited about. It’s an online forum/pinboard where people can upload recipe and craft ideas as well as wedding and home furnishings so I’m looking forward to exploring them and getting ideas for furnishing our house and entertaining people when they come for dinner!
3. Saturday nights is Strictly and Xfactor night in the Barrie household. Mr B is a a Craig fan, whilst I really like Mischa B and Rythmix. We’re split over Kitty (I’m not a fan of her) and Mr B gets super annoyed that Janet is still in the competition. However, one thing we are in agreement on is the style of Dermot O’Leary and Gary Barlow – we are loving the suit and waistcoat style!
