….And it’s July! I feel like I neglected my blog somewhat in June, so July is my month for getting back on track!
We’ve spent a few Saturdays in St Andrews in the last few weeks. My parents have been up from Essex over the last week, and we took them to St Andrews and the East Neuk yesterday. We went to the West Sands and the St Andrews Preservation Trust which was a small museum in a 17th century house and garden. Although small it was really interesting and I got some fun photos. It’s funny, it’s not really until you go to museums like this that you realise how life was so radically different for people even just 75 years ago! Washing clothes particularly must have been a real chore, it made me very thankful for having a washing machine!
We also took my parents on the coastal route back via the East Neuk, this part of the country is definitely becoming a favourite for me. We visited Crail, Anstruther (the Fisheries Museum which my parents loved), Pittenweem, St Monans and Elie.
Today we’ve stayed more local – this afternoon we enjoyed visiting a new cupcake cafe in KInghorn (thumbs up from both Mr B and myself), a nice 4 mile walk from Burntisland to Aberdour and back, crazy golf in Dunfermline and we were back in our house ready for the football (well Mr B is, while I’m blogging the night away)! A nice Sunday afternoon! I’m busy thinking about things that I want to visit/revisit in Fife as at the moment we are in Kinghorn up until Christmas, and there’s different things that we want to do to make use of the summer, so maybe a ‘Fife Bucket List’ is on the cards!
