Last week, I was delighted to be asked by Scottish-based Border Biscuits if I wanted to review some samples of a top secret new flavour in their range of biscuits. Of course I said yes (!) and kept an keen eye out for Mr Postie.
(Tangent: I remember that I only bought my first pack of Border biscuits a few years ago, as my friend Kirsty won their baking competition in 2013 and had her own flavour of biscuits made as part of the prize; check out her blog post featuring her visit to the Border Factory here!)
When Mr Postie called round a few days later, I was really pleased to see that they have adapted their classic (and favourite for many, myself included) and top-selling Dark Chocolate Gingers to include a orange twist.
Some will say that the traditional recipe shouldn’t be messed with, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say these are my new favourite! The orange is subtle but enough to provide a little warm citrus glow complementing the intense hit of the ginger flavour. The dark chocolate simply ties the flavours together and you have a delicious (and very more-ish) biscuit. Look out for these hitting the shops!
Thanks to Border Biscuits for providing me with some of their Dark Chocolate Orange Gingers to review in exchange for a blog post.
