In June I entered a competition courtesy of Bex and Roz over at The Olive Dragonfly blog to win £40 of Amazon vouchers (kindly provided by www.appliancesonline.co.uk). Olive Dragonfly is one of my most favourite regular blog reads – I always keep up to date with all of their posts – so if you like food, photography, travels and general honesty on life and all that it brings, head on over there 🙂
All I simply had to do to enter the competition was leave a comment saying what I would buy with the £40 voucher. I said that I would buy a combination of recipe and fiction books. However, since winning the competition (YAY!) last month, you can see that by the photos below, there are none of these items (whoops), BUT there are some very exciting (and in some cases, necessary and useful) items.
Ok, firstly the baking goodies! I have never owned a cake server/slicer, despite doing a lot of baking. This is a mostly useful item, picked so that I don’t destroy cakes I’ve made by trying to flick slices out with a regular knife or whatever I have nearby. The measuring cups replace my last set, as the measurements on those have all rubbed off. I like these ones as they are so brightly coloured- I definitely won’t lose these in my baking cupboard! And the oblong tin – well I haven’t got one, and lots of recipes that I would like to try ask for one in this size. No more trying of my other tins and hoping for the best when I check the oven partway through cooking time!
Next, the crafting and organisational gifts – The Sharpies and the project spraypaint are going to be used on Christmas presents and craft, as well as other gifts and projects so I won’t say too much about these at the moment, seeing as I’ll probably blog about the projects after I’ve made them and I want the recipients to see their gifts first!
After I had added all of these items I still had about £11 left, so my most discounted item was the Cath Kidston diary for 2014, reduced from almost £20 to £9.60. I was very happy with that buy – I see diaries as a very personal buy so am chuffed that I have a beautiful diary to document the new year in! My final item was a wee cute notebook (though not sure what I will use it for just yet!).
Thanks again Bex and Roz (and appliancesonline.co.uk!) you’ve made me a happy lady!
