To finish 2014, I thought I’d do a round up of the year and what I’ve got up to. Looking back, I can’t believe all the fun stuff I was able to do this year! Here’s some highlights/reflections from the first four months of the year:
In January, I took part in January Joy – a blogging challenge organised by Rebecca of Florence Finds. You can find the last posting in the series (with links to the others within the post). This was the first blogging challenge I took part in – although I didn’t blog daily, I really do think it helped me get into a regular blogging rhythm over 2014 (by the time all of the recap posts have published I will have blogged 90 posts this year). However, in January I was just about to start working full time so the idea of blogging daily was changed to a regular weekend posting which suited me well.
The biggest change in our household this year took place in February, when we got a dog! Bartie is a 5 year old black Labrador and we really can’t imagine our home without him. He is so popular with everyone who comes to visit us and he is good for us too – making us get regular exercise in the woods nearby when we take him for walks. However it wasn’t without it’s challenges in the early days – see this post for more details.
April saw a fun evening out at the Heathmount Hotel for an evening of gin tasting. This was my first taste of North Hop (I went to a couple of other events over the summer too) which was fab and definitely plugged me into the Highland food and drink scene!
