We move to Inverness tomorrow and we think that we are just about ready to go (hence my uber-quick blog post!). Last weekend we enjoyed a flying visit down to London, as we definitely won’t make it down again for a good couple of months. We did loads of walking and seeing friends who spoilt us rotten with good food (special mention for the Richmond Hill Bakery scones bought by Isabel, and Clare’s lamb roasted in Lavender, Orange, Honey and Garlic!) and even better opportunities to catch up and spend time together.
We didn’t have much cash to do touristy things, so we took advantage of a couple of guest passes to Kew Gardens, courtesy of Mr B’s aunt. Even though neither of us are keen gardeners, we really appreciate the chance to walk around peaceful, calm, beautiful surroundings, and Kew definitely ticks all of those boxes. My particular favourite is the Pagoda, though I also enjoyed the Orchid exhibition – an explosion of colour, and spotting one of the 2 peacocks! I would definitely recommend a visit (or if you are local to London, a yearly pass to get the full advantage of seeing different blooms and plants all year round).
