A summer smoothie can really brighten up anyone’s day, and today I have a new favourite of mine to share. Smoothies really can be made with any combination of fruit and vegetables (though I have to say I am yet to be converted into spinach/kale rich smoothie!) along with spices and other flavourings. I like smoothies as an alternative to juices sometimes as nothing is wasted and you get the nutrients from the peel of fruits you just don’t get in juices. I particularly liked this smoothie as there were speckles of red peach skin throughout the pale sunny yellow of the smoothie.
I use my Kenwood Smoothie 2GO Maker, which I bought a couple of years ago with some vouchers bought for me as a leaving present. It wasn’t until I looked around our kitchen and realised that I’m quite the Kenwood fan, as our hand-held mixer, food processor and stand mixer are all from Kenwood! This particular smoothie maker is great as you can make two 500ml smoothies using the two travel mugs that the ingredients are blitzed in, and a quick wash ensures that the travel mugs are ready to use again quickly for your next batch.
