Way back in November we stumbled on a deal for a stay at the Beech Hill Hotel near to Bowness on Windermere. For £99 per night in February the stay included:
- Dinner, Bed and Breakfast each day
- Bedroom with a view of Lake Windermere
- Late Checkout (though we didn’t make use of this)
- A pre dinner cocktail on the first night
The stay generally was very pleasant – staff were friendly, rooms were clean and attractively presented. The lounge area had elevated lake and hill views and there was free wifi access there. The towns of Bowness and Windermere were a short drive away and we enjoyed wandering round them.
However, the real star of our stay was the dinner in the Burlington restaurant each night. 3 courses were included in our rate (though we could have added an extra 2 courses if we had wanted for a small supplement).
Here’s where I admit to a blogging faux pas I try to avoid – not noting down the details of the dishes we tried! Still I did manage a few iphone snaps so I’ve added captions where I can remember at least some of the details.
We loved our meals – they were consistently excellent across the board. The restaurant staff were extremely slick in their service – it was a tight run ship! The hotel definitely deserves it’s AA Rosette.
