I’m not sure that this is ever totally possible -with temperatures dipping well below zero, payday seemingly beyond distant, and new year dieting/exercise regimes coming into force, January always seems so… bleurgh. As we’re living with family at the moment with most of our stuff in storage and unable to craft or bake, I’m living vicariously through other people’s blogs…
Stuff…
like this from Zoe at Conversation Pieces
and this from Jess at Once Upon a Home
this from Teri at The Lovely Drawer
this from Kate at Domestikated
and finally, this from Claire at Celebrate Creation
I’m also getting back into Pinterest. I had set up an account ages ago, set up a few boards (including one entitled ‘My ideal home’, which featured only a beagle – not really making use of the reams of homemaking ideas there then!) and then promptly forgot about it. But now the prospect of having to furnish a new home in the not too distant future makes Pinterest a favourable alternative to spending evenings and weekends trawling about in DFS etc looking for inspiration.
What gets you through January?
Suze, you mirror my thoughts exactly. I suddenly woke up to the realisation the other day, that I always think things are bad in January, ‘it must be because I have no house, or no job, or don’t like where i live…’or whatever. Then I realised that having lived in six very different cities, with six very diffent situations the problem wasn’t the city ,or the situation, but January. So, at the moment I am considering throwing ‘anti-january’ parties next year, want to join in?!!

Thanks for the linkup Susan! xxx
Ooh thanks for the link! Lovely list. And yes, January totally sucks. I don’t understand why we don’t all leave our Christmas decorations up for the whole month – they are so cheery! I’ve left fairy lights up in my bedroom this year to combat the dark mornings.
