This week I am home alone whilst Mr B is away at a conference. Whilst I’m not expecting any low level criminals to break into our home (and if they did, they should beware of some excellent booby-traps similar to the ones that Macaulay Culkin’s character uses in ‘Home Alone’) I think it will be quite weird to come home and not see Mr B at home (especially as this means I will have to cook my own dinner as he is normally weekday chef!)
This will be the first time that we will have spent time away from each other. In some ways I’m dreading it, but in other ways I’m semi-looking forward to it (shhhhhhh!) For instance. I will have a whole bed to myself (but I will have to use our entire stock of hot water bottles to heat it up before going to bed as our bedroom always seems to be colder than the rest of the house). I will be able to watch many many episodes of The Office (USA Series 5) and not have to sit through any episodes of The West Wing (although Mr B would argue that I always end up falling asleep through every episode I’ve attempted to watch anyway…. which is true). I’m hoping to do some baking, catch up with friends via skype (which actually I’m able to do anyway at any time but it just so happens that this week works better for a couple of them) bake something new, and get lots of early nights (I turn into a hibernating creature in winter which Mr B is just discovering and I am constantly teased for the amount of sleep that I like to get). I’m hoping to make use of the many photo frames we got for wedding presents and actually make use of them so that the house is a bit more personalised for the new year. My brother kindly got me an ipod shuffle so I will no doubt also spend ages in the itunes store choosing some new albums to listen to.
So in essence, I’m hoping to get quite a lot done before Friday when Mr B returns. I will let you know how I get on!
