Apologies for the radio silence over here – October has flown by and it’s been a bit of busy month, but i feel that I haven’t had anything crafty or bakey to blog about!
However, it’s the 2nd meeting of Fife Baking Club in Dunfermline next week, and also my birthday the day before. (I have told Mr B not to make me a cake as there will be cake in abundance this week – I think he is quite relieved!) The theme is ‘Spooky Spectacular Surprises’ and my recipe is a spiced butternut squash and chocolate chunk loaf. I did a trial run this week and it turned out well – my colleagues at work gave it good feedback anyway! I will take my camera and try and give a little write up next week sometime.
Other things to look forward to:
- Skyfall – yes, I can’t wait!
- Preparing to make Christmas cards and gift tags before the run up to Christmas – I’ve chosen my card and patterns, so now I just have to find time to make them! I’ve only given myself the task of making 10-15 cards though. However I’m going to also try and make 3d mini gingerbread christmas trees (courtesy of some star shape cutters bought from Lakeland) so that each gift we give will be accompanied by something homemade too.
- Seeing Ben Folds Five as a belated birthday treat
- The return of Blook Club – we will be reading ‘Death comes to Pemberley’ by PD James.
So lots to look forward to – will try and keep blogging as much as I can – honest!
